Life = Change

I found out when I first began doing youth ministry that things are constantly changing.

  • The youth graduate and the people change
  • As youth mature they want to go deeper, but there are newer Christians so you must also include them which requires change.
  • Plans get made, and then get scratched… things change.

All this to say that even though God stays the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow sometimes I get use to the way God has been working. It is usually around this time that He throws me a curveball. On Friday I met with some of the leaders at the church to discuss the youth and children’s ministries at Bethesda. Things seem to be going well, but there is change on the horizon. God seems to have given me a curve, thankfully it’s one that I feel like He is leading me to swing.

Over the next few weeks a lot of things will change. In 31 days Kristie and I will be getting married. Minor change right? Throughout this month I’ll be working on the apartment getting ready for my new roomie 😉 That means no more switchfoot posters in the living room, or Red Sox pennants above the dinner table. I’ve already sold my xbox, and the RX is still for sale. I’m not trading it in for a minivan, but a WRX wagon would be ok with me.

Like I said, things change. And I’m sure that even though I see it coming that I’m going to need God’s Spirit to get me through these changes.
